I am currently watching Earthquake a 1972 film starring Charlie Heston. Not really been concentrating hence the missing detailed plot summary, surfice to say I have seen enough to fill me with a genuine craving for an experience of a real 9.9 Richter Scale earthquake. Why?
1) it looks like alot fun - free thinking, strategy based, team building opportunities
2) shatter mundane life
3) a real sense of achievement if survival is attained
Whilst writing the above, a Panorama episode documenting an investigation of the Chinese right to free speech in lead up to the Olympics has started. The program features a segment about the recent Sichuan earthquake that killed nearly seventy thousand people and ruined the lives of thousands of survivors.
Dam reality. Dam fiction.
